Near-Death Experience

Near-Death Experience draws from the phenomenon of resurrection plants—organisms capable of surviving near-total dehydration, appearing lifeless until rehydration restores them. This cycle becomes a metaphor for human survival through trauma: the moments when the body and spirit shut down to endure, and the possibility of revival through care and healing. The work reflects my own lived proximity to loss and ideation, while acknowledging a shared, often unspoken experience—how close one can come to disappearance and still return.
